I played so hard today, I fell asleep in a pile of my toys.
Today is my birthday! I was born on April 15 so now I am 12 weeks old. Mama Debbi gave me a birthday cake and I tried to blow out the candles, but suddenly a tinkling song started playing and I got the urge to chew on all the candles instead! So "Happy Birthday to Me", everybody!
I was so exhausted from typing, I flopped over—and so did my ear!
Today was my first ever vet visit! The ride there was kind of nerve-wracking. I clung to Mama Debbi and could hardly look out the window because the trees and cars and buildings zipped by so fast. But pretty soon we were at the vet's office where all the other dogs in our house go, and what a shock that was! Daddy Dan took me inside and helped me sign in.
A nice lady helped Daddy Dan weigh me. I was 4.3 pounds!
Lying there, I looked up and saw—A GIANT BUG! It made me itchy just to see it there.
Before I could worry about it too much, I was whisked through the air to a shiny tabletop, where I found a curious paper rectangle. I can't read, but something about it seemed ominous.
That shiny table-top was cold! A lady in red came in and gave me a shagy white rug. So much nicer.
Then the doctor came in. She said I was beautiful. She was very friendly, but I was a little suspicious. She had some odd-looking things around her neck...
Then the doctor smeared something on the table that smelled so stinky I had to lick it all up. I hardly noticed being poked and prodded.
And then it was all over. Whew! I was so exhausted I fell asleep on the way home and didn't wake up again for six hours! But happily I did not swell up like a balloon or puke my guts out like some weenie dogs do after they get their shots. Still, I hope I never have to do that again!
But I think I heard something about next month???
At my Forever Home now! It's exciting...but scary too. All these strangers—humans and doggies—and I'm not sure where I fit in. But there are lots of lovely toys, good food, and soft places to sleep.
Here I am with my favorite toy so far. We call it Cucumber Dog. Looks a little like me, don't you think?
Here I am, rolling in my new blanket.
Today I am leaving my birth home. Bye to all my wriggly, furry brothers and sister! And to our birth mommy, Jill. Here she is saying goodbye.
Someone's coming, someone good! A little girl named Ziggy will be here on Tuesday, June 19, 2018.
Here she is at 6 weeks old. Just some of the things waiting for her!
